Forrest Atmore Stanton, a 77-year-old man, was last seen in Billings, Montana, late in the evening on August 2, 1960. He and his wife resided in the 30 block of Monroe Street. On the night of his disappearance, his wife returned home to find him gone. Stanton had left a note indicating he would be away for a period of time because he had secured a "new job" inspecting "fire damage."
