Janel Irene Peters, aged 20, went missing from Valinda, California, on January 29, 1981. She was last seen around 11:30 p.m. after spending the evening on a date with a friend. Peters was reportedly walking westbound from her friend's home on Double Grove Street when she disappeared. It was uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning, and authorities suspect foul play in her case.
