In the early morning hours of May 4, 2006, 74-year-old Lanis Serie, Sr., a resident of the Ville Platte area in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana, told his daughter he was stepping outside of his home. This was the last time he was ever seen or heard from. Mr. Serie, a Black male with gray hair and brown eyes, was a father and a grandfather.
