In the winter of 2001, 31-year-old Leigh Ann Bosch embarked on a cross-country journey, driving from St. Charles, Missouri, to a new life in Vancouver, Washington, with her boyfriend. The trip took a turn sometime in late December when the couple reportedly became separated east of The Dalles, Oregon. Leigh Ann was traveling in a black 1991 four-door Nissan Infiniti Q45, distinctive for the temporary Virginia license plates, X247-375, taped to the rear plate bracket. On December 27, 2001, she spoke with her parents by phone; this was the last time anyone would hear from her. After this final contact, Leigh Ann, a female with blond or strawberry hair and green eyes, vanished. The details surrounding the days leading up to her disappearance are muddled. Her boyfriend recounted a story of their vehicle getting stuck in the snow near Declo, in the vicinity of a "National Forest sign," and needing assistance from a passerby to be towed out. He also claimed that Leigh Ann had exited the vehicle in Boise, Idaho, on December 27th and fled. This account, however, conflicts with the information Leigh Ann's parents provided, who stated they spoke with her early on that same day and understood her to be in Oregon. The discrepancy between these two accounts leaves the exact timeline and her location at the time of her last communication uncertain. A report of her disappearance was later filed with the Ada County, Idaho Sheriff's Department. Leigh Ann Bosch's case remains unsolved, a lingering mystery for her family and investigators. At the time she went missing, she was described as being between 5'7" and 5'8" tall and weighing between 110 and 120 pounds. She has a tattoo of a blue Asian peace symbol, outlined in red, on the left side of her lower back. She also had a medical condition that required her to take medication to control seizures. The investigation into what happened to Leigh Ann after she separated from her boyfriend and made that final call to her parents has yielded no definitive answers, leaving her whereabouts and the circumstances of her disappearance an enduring and painful question.
