On the evening of November 14, 2011, Gary Alan Warner was riding his bicycle in Mansfield, Ohio, when a police officer attempted to stop him. There had been a series of scrap metal thefts in the industrial area behind the former Ohio Brass building where he was seen. In response to the officer's attempt to make contact, Mr. Warner fled on his bicycle. The pursuit was short-lived as he soon abandoned his bicycle and continued to flee on foot into the darkness.
