In the autumn of 1987, Darryl Bohanon, a 32-year-old man, was preparing for a cross-country journey. On October 7, he was in Cincinnati, Ohio, with plans to board a bus headed for San Diego, California. At the time of his departure, he was described as an African-American male, standing at an impressive six feet three inches tall and weighing around 197 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
