On August 3, 2015, the life of Harold "J.R." Molohon, a 62-year-old retired firefighter from Norfolk, Virginia, took an unexpected and distressing turn. That morning, he dropped his wife, Julie, off at her job, a routine act in their shared life. A neighbor later saw him leaving his home in the Pamlico neighborhood of Norfolk around 10:30 a.m., driving his black 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
