On March 12, 2024, in the town of Mapleton, Utah, 45-year-old Joshua R. Clarke was last seen in an encounter with law enforcement. When officers approached him, he chose not to speak with them and was observed walking away, heading eastbound in the direction of the mountains. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing Scarpa hiking boots, black pants, a grey jacket that may have been layered with a blue jacket, and a dark-colored hat.
