In the early morning hours of January 14, 2016, a 30-year-old man named Steven E. Whitenight Jr. vanished from Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. He was in the midst of his newspaper delivery route, a second job he held in addition to his work at a local Domino's Pizza. The last confirmed sighting of him was at approximately 3:30 a.m. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing an orange hunting jacket, a dark blue Denver Broncos hooded sweatshirt over his Domino's work shirt, black pants, black sneakers, and a Denver Broncos knit cap. Steven, a white male with brown, buzz-cut hair and hazel eyes, also wore eyeglasses. The circumstances surrounding Steven's disappearance are unsettling. A portion of the newspapers he was scheduled to deliver were discovered on the porch of his residence on West Main Street, suggesting his route was abruptly interrupted. His vehicle, a white 1997 Ford Probe GT, was found abandoned near the Bloomsburg Municipal Airport on Airport Road. Inside the car were his cell phone and the keys left in the ignition. A single set of footprints in the snow led from the car onto a nearby bridge that crosses the Susquehanna River, but the trail stopped there. This discovery prompted searches of the river, but they yielded no clues as to Steven's whereabouts. Years have passed since Steven Whitenight Jr. was last seen, and his case remains an unsolved and painful mystery for his loved ones and the community. While he reportedly had a history of disappearing for short periods, these absences were never for such a prolonged duration. Since that January morning, there has been no activity on his bank accounts. The investigation into his disappearance is ongoing, with the Bloomsburg Police Department continuing to seek any information that could lead to answers. The discovery of his car with personal belongings inside, coupled with the footprints that lead to nowhere, creates a puzzling and distressing overview of a man who seemingly vanished without a trace.
