On a cold winter evening in Holly, Michigan, 39-year-old Timothy Scott Ward walked away from his semi-independent living apartment at the Rose Hill Center and was never seen again. It was approximately 5:00 PM on January 31, 2016, when he left the facility. Timothy, who is described as a biracial male of Black/African American and White/Caucasian descent, stood between 5'11" and 6'0" tall and weighed around 240 to 250 pounds at the time of his disappearance. He has brown hair, which was cut short and receding, and brown eyes. Concerns for his safety were heightened by the fact that he may have been in need of help and had left without his phone and car. At the time he went missing, Timothy was believed to be wearing a beige Carhartt jacket with a hood, dark blue jeans, and possibly a navy blue hat. He was also thought to be wearing either sneakers or boots. Though he left his 2011 Ford Focus behind, it is believed he may have had his wallet and keys with him. Timothy has schizophrenia and had reportedly stopped taking his medication prior to his disappearance. Authorities speculated that he might have been attempting to travel to Canton Township, a place he previously lived with his family before moving to the treatment center in Holly. The years since Timothy Ward's disappearance have not brought any definitive answers. A reward of $2,500 was offered for information leading to his whereabouts, but this has not yet yielded a breakthrough in the case. The Michigan State Police launched an investigation, and his case was entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs). The case remains an open and painful chapter for his loved ones and the community. The lack of closure underscores the ongoing mystery of what happened to Timothy after he walked away on that January evening. Law enforcement continues to ask for the public's help, hoping that a crucial piece of information will eventually surface and shed light on his fate.
