In the spring of 2015, a young mother and her infant son vanished, leaving behind a trail of perplexing questions and a family desperate for answers. The story of their disappearance begins in Columbus, Ohio, where Brittany Ford and her then eight-month-old son, Deklon, were last seen. The two had been staying with Brittany's brother after a tumultuous period in her life. Prior to their disappearance, Brittany had been exhibiting signs of distress, which had led her family to seek professional help for her. After a brief hospital stay, she was released and went to stay with her brother. On the morning of May 6, 2015, her brother awoke to find that Brittany and Deklon were gone, along with a note indicating they had gone out for food and would be back shortly. However, they never returned. Their journey from that point is pieced together from a few sparse sightings. They were known to be traveling in a white 2007 Nissan Versa with Georgia license plates. A police officer in Indiana reportedly assisted Brittany with a flat tire on May 14. Two days later, she made a phone call to her brother from Iowa, in which she requested a large sum of money. This would be the last known contact anyone had with Brittany. The following day, May 17, their vehicle was discovered abandoned on the side of a highway near Hardin, Montana. Inside the car were Brittany's personal belongings, her medication, and Deklon's car seat, but there was no sign of the mother and child. The discovery of the abandoned vehicle marked a chilling turning point in the case, transforming it from a missing persons report into a deeply concerning mystery. Despite the passage of time, the whereabouts of Deklon Ford and his mother, Brittany, remain unknown. Law enforcement agencies, including the Columbus Police Department, have investigated their disappearance, and their case has been shared by organizations dedicated to finding missing persons. Deklon is described as being of biracial descent, Black and White, with brown hair and brown eyes. Age-progressed photos have been created and circulated to provide a more current depiction of what he might look like. The overview of this case reveals a deeply troubling situation involving a vulnerable mother and her infant child, whose sudden and unexplained disappearance has left a void in the lives of their loved ones and a community searching for answers.
