In the summer of 2015, a young man named Miguel Servin, just 22 years old at the time, vanished under perplexing circumstances in Nogales, Arizona. On June 21st of that year, Miguel was involved in a single-vehicle accident. In the moments following the crash, for reasons that remain unclear, he was seen fleeing the scene and running into the vast and unforgiving desert landscape that characterizes the region. That was the last time anyone reported seeing the young man, a resident of Phoenix, who was far from home. His sudden disappearance left his family with a void of information and a series of unanswered questions that would stretch on for years. Miguel, also known as Miguel Servin Jr., is described as a Hispanic and White/Caucasian male with black hair and brown eyes. At the time he went missing, he stood between 5'3" and 5'5" tall and weighed between 145 and 155 pounds. His family provided investigators with details of his distinctive tattoos in the hopes that they might aid in his identification. These included a marijuana leaf, the number "818," the words "Cali Love," "Mary Jane," and a skull smoking on his left arm, as well as another tattoo on his chest. Despite these identifying features and the efforts of law enforcement, the trail into the desert grew cold, and the initial search yielded no clues as to his whereabouts or his fate. The investigation into Miguel Servin's disappearance was handled by the Phoenix Police Department. As part of the official process, his case was entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs). Over the years, DNA samples were collected from his mother and maternal half-sister to be entered into national databases, a standard and vital procedure in long-term missing persons cases. The circumstances surrounding his decision to run into the desert after a car accident remain the central and most baffling aspect of his case. This single known detail has left his loved ones to wonder what prompted his actions on that day and what became of him in the harsh environment he fled into.
