In the summer of 2000, 41-year-old Cordelia Anne Harris, known to some as Della, was living on Anglin Street in Detroit, Michigan. On July 3rd of that year, she was last seen at her home. Descriptions of Cordelia paint a picture of a biracial woman with Black and White ancestry, standing between 5'4" and 5'5" tall and weighing between 165 and 180 pounds. She had brown eyes and black hair, and was known to often wear wigs and hair weaves. Her ears were pierced. There are some discrepancies in the exact date of her disappearance, with some accounts stating she was last seen on July 3, 1999. On the day she vanished, Cordelia was reportedly preparing to leave for her job at Home Depot with her husband, who was supposed to drop her off. An argument is said to have occurred between the couple outside their home. Although they were seen leaving together, Cordelia never arrived for her shift at work and has not been heard from since. All of her personal belongings, including her purse and necessary blood pressure medication, were left behind at her residence. The investigation into Cordelia's disappearance led police to interview her husband, who reportedly passed a lie detector test. Before investigators could delve further, the family's car was discovered burned. Shortly after, Cordelia's husband moved out of Detroit with their daughter, relocating to the southern United States. While her family has expressed their belief that he was involved in her disappearance, he was never officially named a suspect or charged in connection with the case. He passed away in Alabama in 2010. Her family remembers her as a devoted mother and grandmother and continues to hope for answers in her case. The circumstances of her disappearance remain unsettling for those who knew her, as a woman leaving behind all her possessions and medication is highly uncharacteristic. The case is a painful mystery, leaving her loved ones with unanswered questions about what happened to the 41-year-old woman who seemingly vanished without a trace.
