In the autumn of 2018, a 42-year-old aspiring rapper named Rashan A. Francis, originally from the Bronx, New York, had recently relocated to Scranton, Pennsylvania, to embark on a new chapter in his life with a new job. On November 6, 2018, a day that began like any other, Rashan was last seen walking along Business Route 6 in Dickson City, Pennsylvania. He was a Black male, standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds, with brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, his head was shaved, and he may have had a beard. He was last seen wearing a distinctive red, white, and blue jacket with a red hood, blue jeans or dark-colored pants, and red sneakers, and he was carrying a black backpack. He also has a tattoo on one of his upper arms. The circumstances surrounding Rashan's disappearance are deeply troubling and began with a frantic phone call to his mother on the day he went missing. In what would be their last conversation, a panicked Rashan told his mother that someone was after him and that he believed they were going to kill him. The call then abruptly ended, and despite her repeated attempts, she was unable to reach him again. Prior to his disappearance, there were indications that Rashan "was not of sound mind," as he had expressed feelings of paranoia, believing people were coming after him. His family has expressed immense frustration, stating they feel investigators have not taken their concerns or the case seriously. They have tirelessly put up flyers and photos in an effort to find him, but their questions to the police have reportedly gone unanswered. The investigation into Rashan Francis's disappearance has yielded few answers, leaving his loved ones in a state of prolonged uncertainty. While police have conducted searches in the area where he was last seen, including a wooded area near a McDonald's on the outskirts of town, no trace of him has been found. His family acknowledges the possibility of a mental health episode but also believes there was a person of interest that investigators should have looked into more closely around the time he vanished. The lack of significant developments in the case has only deepened the mystery of what happened to Rashan after that distressing phone call. The case remains a painful open wound for his family, who continue to hope for answers and advocate for a more thorough investigation into his disappearance.
