On a winter evening in Sequim, Washington, 41-year-old Heather Marie Tegerdine told her mother and step-father that she was going for a walk. It was between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. on December 22, 2018, when she left her family's home in the Diamond Point area. Worryingly, she left without her coat, wallet, and cigarettes.
