A Routine Morning Turns Mysterious

On the morning of February 26, 2021, 38-year-old Cheretha Morrison began her day like any other. She dropped off her daughter at Earle Elementary School, located in the 2000 block of West 62nd Street in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood. This routine task, however, marked the last time her family would see or hear from her. When she failed to return to pick up her daughter that afternoon, immediate concern set in, as it was uncharacteristic of Cheretha to neglect her responsibilities.

The Immediate Aftermath and Search Efforts

Alarmed by her unexplained absence, Cheretha's family promptly reported her missing. The Chicago Police Department issued a missing person alert, noting that she was last seen driving a silver 2006 Porsche Cayenne with Illinois license plate BZ12712. The vehicle was discovered three days later, on March 1, 2021, abandoned in the 7400 block of North Winchester Avenue in the Rogers Park area—approximately 20 miles from where she was last seen. The circumstances surrounding the vehicle's location only deepened the mystery of her disappearance.
