In the early hours of December 4, 1978, a routine visit to a 7-Eleven store in San Diego's South Park neighborhood turned into a harrowing scene. A customer entered the convenience store at 2101 Fern Street around 1:00 a.m. and found the clerk, 24-year-old Halley "Butch" Watson, lifeless behind the counter. Watson had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head, delivered at close range. The store's cash register was emptied, with the perpetrator escaping with a mere $39. This brutal act not only ended a young life but also instilled fear within the community.
Just a day prior, on December 3, 1978, another senseless murder occurred under eerily similar circumstances. At approximately 2:00 a.m., 21-year-old U.S. Navy sailor Terry Pahl visited an all-night laundromat at 3519 30th Street to do his laundry. The laundromat's owner arrived an hour later for a routine check and discovered Pahl's body lying face down at the rear of the establishment. He had been shot twice in the back of the head at close range. Pahl's wallet, keys, and his blue 1975 Chevrolet pickup truck were missing, indicating robbery as a possible motive.
The murders of Watson and Pahl shared striking similarities that suggested a connection. Both victims were young men attacked in local businesses during the early morning hours. The locations of the crimes were approximately 14 blocks apart on the same street. Ballistics testing revealed that the same .22 caliber revolver was used in both homicides. These factors led investigators to believe that a single perpetrator was responsible for both murders.
Following the murders, law enforcement intensified their efforts to locate Pahl's stolen vehicle, hoping it would lead them to the killer. The blue 1975 Chevrolet pickup truck was found abandoned and disabled on December 5, 1978, on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 at Main Street. Despite this discovery, the trail went cold, and no significant leads emerged from the vehicle. ...Read More

on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
