A Fateful Night at The Outpost Market
On the evening of August 27, 2017, tranquility in Cathedral City was shattered by a violent act that remains unresolved. At approximately 10:49 p.m., local authorities received an urgent call reporting a shooting at The Outpost Market, located at 68171 Ramon Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 26-year-old David Reyes-Gonzalez seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked directly in front of the establishment. He had sustained a gunshot wound and was found unconscious yet still breathing. Emergency medical services promptly transported him to a nearby hospital, where, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
The Elusive Perpetrators
Witnesses at the scene recounted seeing the assailant flee in a blue sedan, accompanied by two other individuals. He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through.
