On the evening of August 27, 2017, tranquility in Cathedral City was shattered by a violent act that remains unresolved. At approximately 10:49 p.m., local authorities received an urgent call reporting a shooting at The Outpost Market, located at 68171 Ramon Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 26-year-old David Reyes-Gonzalez seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked directly in front of the establishment. He had sustained a gunshot wound and was found unconscious yet still breathing. Emergency medical services promptly transported him to a nearby hospital, where, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did.
