On June 25, 1983, four-year-old Nyleen Kay Marshall joined her family for a picnic in the Helena National Forest, nestled within Montana's Elkhorn Mountains. The gathering, organized by the Capital City Radio Club, brought together families for a day of leisure and camaraderie. Nyleen, accompanied by her adoptive father Kim, mother Nancy, and siblings Nathan and Noreen, was last seen playing near Maupin Creek's beaver dams around 4:00 p.m. She had been catching frogs with other children but was later observed sitting alone by the creek. Moments later, she vanished without a trace .
The disappearance prompted an extensive search operation involving over 2,800 volunteers, helicopters, infrared heat sensors, and canine units. The rugged terrain, characterized by dense forests, steep cliffs, and abandoned mine shafts, posed significant challenges. Despite the exhaustive efforts, including draining ponds and searching mine shafts, no evidence of Nyleen's whereabouts was found. The search was further hampered by inclement weather, which washed away potential clues .
Witnesses reported seeing a man in a purple jogging suit in the area around the time of Nyleen's disappearance. Some children recalled that Nyleen had been speaking with this man, who allegedly invited her to play a game called "Follow the Shadow." A six-year-old boy stated that Nyleen said, "That man wants me to follow the shadow," before she disappeared. The identity and involvement of this individual remain unknown .
In November 1985, two years after Nyleen's disappearance, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received an anonymous phone call from a man claiming to have abducted Nyleen. The caller provided details about the abduction that had not been released publicly. Subsequently, in January 1986, a typewritten letter was sent to Child Find of America, a missing children's organization in New York. The letter, postmarked from Madison, Wisconsin, claimed that the writer had picked up "a girl named Kay" and decided to take her home. The writer described himself as financially independent, working from home, and homeschooling Kay. He claimed they traveled extensively across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The letter included specific details about Nyleen's appearance and habits, suggesting the writer had intimate knowledge of her ....Read More

on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
